Inter Milan's Latest Update on Denzel Dumfries: Midfield Maestro's Role
Inter Milan has announced the signing of midfielder Dzenal Dumfries from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
Dumfries, who was born in Scotland but spent most of his career at Manchester United, is known for his technical ability and versatility as a central defender.
The move comes just days after Inter signed former Arsenal midfielder Nemanja Matic, who also left Old Trafford last summer to join Real Madrid.
Manchester United were initially thought to be interested in Dumfries, but they were unable to convince him to sign a new deal.
However, the club have now confirmed that they have secured the player's services.
In an interview with The Sun, Dumfries said: "I'm very happy to be joining Inter,Chinese Super League Matches it's a fantastic club and I can't wait to get started."
He added: "It's been a long journey and I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to play for such a great team."
Inter boss Marcello Lippi said: "We're delighted to have Dzenal Dumfries joining us on loan from Manchester United. He brings a lot of experience and qualities to our squad."
He continued: "We'll see how he does when he arrives here, but we know he will make a big contribution to our team."
Dumfries has made an impact in the Premier League so far this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions.
He has been instrumental in helping Inter secure their first win in Serie A since August 2019, thanks to his work rate and determination.
He has impressed teammates like fellow centre-back Daniele De Rossi and full-back John O'Shea, who praised his skills and leadership qualities.
Dumfries' arrival adds another important piece to Inter's defence, and could prove crucial as the club look to build on their impressive start to the season.
Inter are confident that Dumfries will provide a significant boost to their midfield, while also adding depth to their defensive ranks.
