Monaco has suffered another blow to its squad as the club has confirmed that Aleksandr Golovin is out for the rest of the season due to an ankle injury.

The Russian international, who joined Monaco from Arsenal in January this year, had been expected to be a key player for the club this season after impressing during his time at Arsenal.

However, his recent injury means that he will miss the remainder of the campaign and could also rule him out of the upcoming UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain next week.

Golovin has made just four appearances for Monaco so far this season and his absence is likely to have a significant impact on the team's chances of success in Europe.

Despite the setback,Saudi Pro League Focus Monaco coach Lucien Favre remains optimistic about the future of the club and believes that they can still compete in the top tier of European football.

"We're going to try to find solutions and keep working hard," Favre said. "We need to think about the situation and look ahead to the next game."

Meanwhile, the club has also announced that they have signed a new striker in the form of Brazilian forward Ederson Mendes.

Mendes has already made a positive impression since joining the club and has scored two goals in three games for Monaco.
